Brighton Update
« on: 02 September, 2011, 20:26:36 »
Guys,

Brighton isn't usually somewhere I go to find a classic fruit but there are a few still knocking around in one arcade just under the promenade to the right of the pier. Some of these have been here for a while but they have a good mix of machines and they do play well!

Addams Family is my fave table. Watch out though, the machines are rock bottom % wise down there. And the Rollercoaster is a disappointment when I play it aswell

I love Addams family too! It's such a popular title.

The %'s didn't seem too bad to me - I have played a lot worse. Having said that, I don't play here often so I may have has an uncommon experience. I not saying I walked away with loads but I think I broke even and I was happy with that  :)

Its getting to that stage though where Im just grateful to see older machines on the floor!  :D

It looks like that place has massive potential.

Why do arcades bother with so many cranes! they no longer work.

It being Brighton seafront I personally would replace them with 10-12 decent retro pinball tables and some fruits.

I would love to operate pins if I could. Space prevents. I can no longer really play pinball as my arm gives out more often than not these days, but to a skilled player with decent reactions (my reactions are terrible) the pin table is the nuts.

They do not generate money per se but then half of the fruits don't either. Its not about revenue its about footfall and atmosphere...cranes I cannot stand tbh.

I will be releasing my single topper soon.

Good to see the Haunted, just got hold of one of those myself. The Adders looks good nick, shame its the nasty 5 version.

If I ever got diverted through Brighton and was forced to walk to the seafront I would certainly give them a bash.

@ Jon I have also heard they are ALL on 70%.  :-\

Hi

I found this place on my visit to Brighton, i too love pin ball and the adams family is my fave "quicksand, fumes, toxic waste it's all ours", when i was there he had a row if Eachway Nudgers, and Light a nudges in the arcade, i took them for a nice tenner profit.

Regards
